National Wind Participates in the 2nd Annual Iowa Wind Energy Association Conference

April 8th, 2009 – The Iowa Wind Energy Association (IWEA) held its second annual conference last Thursday, April 2nd, 2009, at the Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville, Iowa. Wind energy has been quickly advancing in Iowa, with a record year in 2008. Now with 2,790 MW of wind energy, Iowa has surpassed California and is ranked second in the nation only to Texas in terms of installed wind capacity.

Red Rock Wind Energy Announces the Development of Large-Scale Community Wind Energy in Iowa, Bringing Local Landowners Together

Estherville, Iowa--December 11, 2008 - The development of wind energy in Northwest Iowa will expand again with the formation of Red Rock Wind Energy, LLC of Estherville, a community-owned wind farm development company. Red Rock Wind Energy, with their project manager National Wind of Minneapolis, plans to develop up to 300 megawatts (MW) of wind energy in Emmet and Dickinson Counties, Iowa within the next 3 to 5 years, producing enough electricity to power up to 90,000 homes.
