Peter Mastic Joins National Wind as President and Chief Development Officer

Minneapolis, MN - September 21, 2010.- Peter Mastic has joined National Wind as President and Chief Development Officer, with overall responsibility for project development and project finance. He reports to Leon Steinberg who remains Chief Executive Officer. Mastic was previously founder and CEO of Third Planet Windpower, LLC and before that co-founder and Managing Director of Noble Environmental Power, LLC. He will now lead the development of National Wind’s project portfolio, consisting of 15 community wind farms, with over 4,000 megawatts (MW) in active development. Headquartered in Minneapolis, National Wind is the largest developer of utility-scale community-based wind energy projects in the US.

“We are pleased to have a wind industry executive of such prominence join our team,” Steinberg commented. “Peter is a senior energy executive turned wind developer. He is well versed in renewable energy markets and has been successful in developing large-scale wind projects across the country.”

Mastic has initiated and managed the development, financing construction or commissioning of more than 20 wind projects comprising more than five gigawatts (GW) across the United States. More than 500 MW of those projects are successfully constructed and operational. Mastic has been responsible for securing numerous power purchase agreements (PPAs) from utilities throughout the course of his career and has also negotiated financing for a number of large-scale energy projects.
