High Country Energy Elects A New Advisory Board Member
Kasson, MN - July 29th, 2010: High Country Energy, LLC has elected Michael Frost to the wind project’s local advisory board. Frost, a farmer and participant in High Country Energy, was elected to the board during the project’s recent annual member’s meeting. He represents community members within High Country’s northern footprint, located in Dodge County’s Concord, Milton, Wasioja and Mantorville townships and Olmsted County’s New Haven and Kalmar townships.
“Mike’s presence on the board will help us cultivate more participation in High Country Energy,” says Bryant Hokeness, Chairman of the project’s advisory board. “He is a recognized leader in the local farming community as Vice President of the Olmsted County Farmers Union and as a member of the Minnesota Farm Bureau. Because of his leadership roles and his experience farming in the area for over 25 years, he understands landowner issues and concerns. I think he will be very effective in helping frame High Country Energy’s development to meet the needs of those in our northern footprint along with increasing overall interest in our project.”
Frost is the 9th member of High Country Energy’s advisory board. He joins current members Chairman Bryant Hokeness, Barry Rogne, Dan Hoffman, Dana Christie, Ken Binkely, Eric Lee, Lisa Heggedahl and John Meyer. The local advisory board ensures the community’s voice is heard throughout the development process.
“I am honored to be a part of High Country Energy’s advisory board,” says Frost. “I believe wind energy has great potential in our area, especially because High Country’s status as a Community-Based Energy Development (C-BED) ensures that a significant portion of the project’s benefits remain local. I encourage landowners to become involved because they can own a stake in the project and have a voice in the process. As a board member, I will listen to the concerns of my neighbors, look at all sides of a situation and help the board make the best decisions possible for the project’s participants.”
Formed in 2007, High Country Energy has significant land rights under agreement and the participation of over 300 local landowners and investors.
High Country Energy plans to elect two additional participating members to its advisory board during a late 2010 election. More details are forthcoming at a later date.
