Who We Are

We are America's leading large-scale community wind project developer. We currently have fifteen families of projects in development or operation. These projects have an aggregate capacity of over 4000 megawatts.

As the leading developer of utility-scale community projects, our vision is to revitalize rural economies by promoting investment in domestic renewable energy resources. We will create shared ownership with communities and provide them a voice.

What is Community Wind?

National Wind is committed to developing large-scale wind projects that are firmly rooted in the community. Community-based projects differ significantly from traditional models of wind development.

First, local communities play a significant role in decision-making and goal-setting for the project.

Secondly, landowners not only get turbine leases, but also have the opportunity to join the project as part-owners via investment of their wind rights or money.
